Age of Empires II - Sunday 13/05/07 results

The game started with a swift economic build-up by all teams. Seleukos and Hajime formed an alliance and conducted destructive raiding parties against lakupotko and Päränoid. As the game progressed the alliance advanced on two fronts, first destroy the kingdom of lakupotko and then that of paranoid.

Meanwhile the as of yet peaceful empire of Queen Harpus attacked the Empire of Pysethus with a mighty army of war elephants, and achieved unprecedented success, breaking through the defences and ravaging the countryside. The success of Harpus brought an end to her trading alliance with Seleukos and Hajime, and the suggestions of friendship shown between these factions in naval battles against Pysethus were forgotten as the alliance proceeded to obtain naval supremacy.

As Harpus withdrew from the lands of Pysethus, the ever persistent empire began to rebuild at an alarming speed but eventually destroyed despite resistance as the battle hardened armies of Hajime advanced from the west.

The Empire of Harpus sensed doom was nigh, and launched a surprise attack at Seleukos' garrison in the lands of lakupotko, and continued to stampede into Seleukos' mainland achieving
some success, but was defeated as Hajime's reinforcements arrived and as Seleukos mobilised his forces.

Meanwhile Hajime attacked Harpus from the north, meeting little resistance. The game ended with the destruction of Harpus' last elephant and cavalry brigade and the fall of their castles.

Great game, next time I think I'm going to try and be more organised in my attacks and keep have a solid base so I can have the victory all to myself next time. Bwahahaa...

Lessons learned:
- If you end up next to sakari you're screwed.
- I just can't manage an economy, an army, *and* a navy at the same time.
- It's easier to plea for mercy in a LAN game :D

Aye, you shouldn't give up so early though. I land on your shores and immediately you say "Ah well I havent got a chance you might as well attack properly" Yes, that's what I was doing anyway >:) You should initially focus on economy more, thus allowing for a techonologicallt advanced army later. So don't build a massive army in castle age, that will just slow down your economic advancement and you will only have a mediocre army anyway.
